I'm as bumbling and awkward as I always was. I just hide it better these days.

I play post-karaoke queer electro pop. I'm from Leeds but I live in Cardiff in Wales. My computer makes bleepy noises when I tell it to and these fit with songs I make that have melodies and words in them. I write songs about important issues such as sunburn, finding a frog in your living room and young lib dems. I am pro-twee and pro-fun. Dressing up is very important to me. Apparently sometimes when I play people can't tell what gender I am. I think this is nice.

***My songs will worm their way into your cranium and lodge themselves inside and make you go insane***

The word Kabuki came from the verb kabuku, which literally meant to incline in a certain direction. It also metaphorically meant to be, either in behavior or custom, different from the norm, to be likely to draw attention. (taken from www.kabuki21.com)

History

Kristofski kabuki started making electro pop music at the beggining of 2006. Being made to go to piano and violin lessons as a child, as well as having an older sister who he thought was the coolest thing ever and was also into bands, secured in him a love for music and a desire to grace the stage in one way or another. After many years of trying and failing to be in bands and a brief stint in his teens playing saxophone for a Leeds ska punk band he finally realised that electro was the way to go. A love of 80's synth music, especially the Pet Shop Boys, as well as more recent quirky electro pop, came together with a love of catchy tunes and fancy dress to create the mostrosity that is Kristofski Kabuki.
